How long should my Peri adhesive last
Peri’s adhesive is designed to last 10–14 days, but many women prefer to change it around day 7—especially if it’s looking a little dirty, feels less sticky, or the sensor starts to lift at the edges. This guide walks you through removing the old adhesive, cleaning your Peri device, applying a fresh adhesive, and getting the best placement for comfort and reliable wear.
Tip: If your Peri still feels secure and clean at day 7, you can absolutely keep wearing it—there’s no need to change it early.
When should I change the adhesive?
You’ll usually want to change your adhesive if:
- The edges are lifting or if it starts to peel
- If the adhesive looks dirty or feels less sticky
- The device is not sitting securely on the skin
- Your skin feels itchy or irritated underneath
Step-by-Step Guide to change the adhesive
Remove the old adhesive gently
- It can be easier to remove the adhesive under a warm shower, especially if it has been on the body for less than 7 days.
- Do not pull the device from the skin to remove the adhesive
- Start peeling the adhesive at one edge and peel slowly, keeping the adhesive low and close to the skin (rather than pulling straight out).
- If you feel tugging, pause and peel more slowly—don’t rush.
Clean your Peri device
- After you remove the adhesive, you may see a little residue—this is normal.
- Important: Don’t use cleaners, oils, or strong solvents.
- Gently clean the device surface using a slightly damp cloth with mild soap and water.
- Wipe again with a damp cloth to remove any soap.
- Dry completely with a clean towel, and let it air-dry for a minute.
Prep your skin for the best hold
- A good hold starts with clean, dry skin
- Wash the area with mild soap and water.
- Dry fully, the adhesive won’t stick well to damp skin.
- Do not apply lotions, oils, or sunscreen
Apply the new adhesive to Peri
- Take a new adhesive from the adhesive pouch
- Peel back the adhesive covering labelled No. 1 and place it over the device. Be careful that the adhesive does not cover the sensors.
- Gently press down on the adhesive to ensure it is in full contact with the device.
- When reapplying the device, switch to the other side of the body, to allow the skin to rest. Avoid prolonged use without repositioning or replacing the adhesive patch.Peel back the adhesive cover labelled No. 2
- Decide where you are going to place the sensor. It is recommended to place a new adhesive on the other side of the body, to give the skin a chance to recover
- Place the device against the skin and gently press until fully secured, ensuring it sits comfortably against your skin.
